Experimental songs in the Neue Nationalgalerie – musical short tours invite the visitors to explore the collections with the audio guide and discover the art associatively and multisensory. With vocals and cello, egg harp, canned banjo, hose trumpet and all sorts of other sound devices, the Berlin duo Wandermüd (Winnie Brückner and Susanne Paul) tells of romance in the digital age.

DJ Hengameh Yaghoobifarah is guaranteed to get you up and dancing to sounds that accompany the Isa Genzken exhibition.

The film and photo installation "One Year Performance 1980–1981 (Time Clock Piece)" shows the performance, in which the artist photographed himself punching in on a time clock every hour for a year. The sleep deprivation thus caused provoked a kind of delirium, causing a number ofphotographs to fail.

The exhibition shows for the first time the long-term loan from the Gerhard Richter Art Foundation to the Neue Nationalgalerie. Alongside the Birkenau series (2014), other works from various phases of Richter’s career will be exhibited. There is also another large group of works from Richter’s striking series of overpainted photographs.

To commemorate the centenary of Judit Reigl’s birth and the acquisition of three of her main works, the Neue Nationalgalerie is presenting her first-ever solo exhibition in a German museum. The important Hungarian-born French artist (1923–2020) was closely associated with the French Art Informel movement in the 1950s.

To mark Isa Genzken’s 75th birthday, the Neue Nationalgalerie is showing 75 sculptures spanning all phases of her oeuvre from the 1970s to the present. Major works on display include the 10-metre-long "Blau-grau-gelbes Hyperbolo ‘MBB’" (1981), "Atelier" (1990), "Venedig" (1993) and "Nofretete – Das Original" (2012).
